Every line, out in the open.

Four charges and two levies, and you see all six before you confirm. Nothing is added at the end, and nothing on your receipt is a line we cannot account for.

The published rate card

What changes the price is the class of car, not the city you are in. Each class has its own base fare and its own rates.

EconomyEveryday rides. The published base fare.₦2,500₦150₦50₦100/min₦2,500

ExecutiveFor meetings, airports and clients.₦5,000₦300₦100₦100/min₦5,000

Waiting is free for the first 3 minutes at pickup on every class, and charged by the minute after that. The minimum fare is set to the base fare, which is charged on every trip — so the floor never binds and no adjustment line ever appears on your receipt. These are the national rates; a state can be given its own card, and prices from these until it is.

On the passenger's bill

Added to the fare, and passed on in full. Neither goes to MyKaab. Both are flat across the country.

Trip insurance₦350Passenger cover on every trip, owed to the underwriter.
State road development fund₦30Statutory per-trip contribution to the state road development fund.

What the driver's side looks like

Commission is 0 per cent on every class. A driver pays ₦30,000 a month instead, and one thing is withheld from a fare.

Tax withholding₦50Withheld against the driver's own liability and remitted for them.

Health cover, life cover and a pension are offered to approved drivers — health cover at ₦100, life cover at ₦50, pension at ₦150 — and charged only to a driver who has switched them on, through the subscription rather than out of each fare. A deduction on top of a subscription already paid reads as a commission by another name, so it is not taken that way.

Work it out

Try a journey.

Move the sliders and the arithmetic follows the published card. The example opens on Economy, which carries the ₦2,500 base fare quoted everywhere else on this site.

An illustration from the published rates, not a booking quote. Rates may be adjusted; whatever is in force is what your app shows you before you book and what your receipt itemises afterwards.

An example from the published rate card, not a quote. Your app shows the rate in force before you confirm. The two levies are passed on in full. Tax is withheld against the driver’s own liability and remitted for them; optional cover, if the driver has switched any on, is charged through their subscription and not taken from this fare.

Priced, but not offered yet

These classes have rates so that an older app or an operator-created trip still quotes something sensible. They are not in the rider app, so you cannot book one today.
